Grasshopper supporting team wellbeing

Working at Grasshopper can be fast paced and sometimes demanding and challenging, particularly in relation to some of the more high-profile projects we are involved with.

Ensure the wellbeing of our team is a top priority, which is why earlier this year we published our Wellbeing and Mental Health policy, setting out our commitment to our team.

As part of this we have committed to the Mindful Employer Charter and have now signed up to the Employee Assistance Programme, which provides 24/7 telephone support, telephone counselling and an array of resources for our team.

A key part of managing wellbeing within the team is ensuring everyone is fully equipped for the roles they are being asked to undertake.  For example, we identified pressures being put on team members facing criticism, misinformation and negativity at public events, so provided company-wide training earlier this year around managing difficult conversations.

We are also engaging in our first well-being training day with NHS Devon partnership next month, to talk about mental health and techniques for building resilience.

Other initiatives include our Annual Away Day which this year involved volunteering for some woodland management with the Amelia Trust Farm, regular sporting activities, as well as two days volunteering time allocated to each team member every year.

We also have an active social committee led by Sam, Emily and Zoe who are great at tearing us away from our desks for a little light-relief. Whether its rounders in the park, a night of darts at Flight Club, an evening of fun in Roxy Lanes, or simply a round of cocktails in our nearest bar, it’s always a great opportunity to let our hair down and relax.
