Grasshopper Joins National Grid’s Community Relations Agency Framework
Monday 9th September 2024
Grasshopper is pleased to be able to announce our appointment to National Grid’s Community Relations Agency Framework for 2024-2027, positioning us as an important partner in supporting the delivery of one of the most significant overhauls of the UK’s electricity grid seen in generations.
The Great Grid Upgrade encompasses 17 major infrastructure projects across England and Wales designed to modernise and expand the UK’s electricity networks. These projects are vital for carrying more clean energy from sources like offshore wind farms to where it’s needed most, helping the UK move closer to its net-zero goals.
As one of nine selected agencies on the framework from across the UK, Grasshopper will look to play a key role in engaging with local communities, ensuring that they are informed, consulted, and actively involved throughout the planning and delivery of these essential infrastructure projects.
Clare Jones, founding director of Grasshopper, said: “Climate change is the biggest challenge we face, and we are committed to playing our part in the push towards net zero. The Great Grid Upgrade is a vital step towards a sustainable future, and we’re looking forward to working with National Grid to ensure that the voices of local communities are at the heart of this transformation.”
