We’re looking for a part-time fluent Welsh speaker with an interest in environment and social projects to help build our stakeholder and community engagement team in Cardiff.

What does a day in the life of an account director look like?

You’ll lead on building relationships with clients and driving forward the delivery of projects in our stakeholder and community engagement team.  In a typical week you may be asked to:

  • Oversee and develop client relationships and understanding now important these are to us in the successful running of Grasshopper.
  • Devise and deliver high quality strategy (communications and engagement) that meets the client’s expectations and deliverables.
  • Develop project programmes to ensure our engagement programme are delivered within deadlines.
  • Lead engagement with senior politicians and stakeholders to give clear briefings on projects.
  • Work with the team to prepare all material for a consultation launch (newsletters, media releases and stakeholder updates)
  • Attend and facilitate events / workshops
  • Oversee the preparation of consultation reports summarising consultation process and the feedback received.
  • Write new business tenders and attending pitches.
  • Leading and actioning day to day client meetings and ensuring projects delivered on time and one budget.
  • Signing off client activity reports and invoices for issues on a monthly basis.

What are we looking for?

You’ll have previous experience or skills and be able to evidence:

  • Fluent Welsh speaker
  • Team management experience
  • Excellent project management skills and able to juggle a variety of tasks to meet pressing deadlines.
  • Focused with exceptional attention to detail with pride in the work you deliver.
  • Interest or understanding of the social and environmental projects
  • Experience of organising community consultations, stakeholder events and being confident in facilitating workshop bi-lingually.
  • Good knowledge of Welsh local government operations as well as high level goings on at Senedd is also important.
  • Building client relationships and securing new business.
  • A team player who has energy, passion, and enthusiasm to develop the business and be an ambassador for the company.

We’re offering this position on a part-time basis of 20 hours per week over a minimum of three days per week.  We offer hybrid working with a minimum of two days per week being based in our Cardiff office, in the city centre.
