Overview

Pennant Walters is looking to gain planning permission for a wind farm in Blaenau Gwent, called Mynydd Carn y Cefn.  The proposals include eight wind turbines with a blade height of up to 180m, generating up to 34 MW of electricity.  The project is a Development of National Significance and will be determined by Planning and Environment Decisions Wales and Welsh Ministers.

What we did

Grasshopper has designed, managed and implemented a bilingual communications and engagement programme consisting of briefing local elected representatives, preparing a project website, virtual and public exhibitions, community benefit workshop, advertising and social campaign.

Outcome

Consultation activity is continuing ahead of a DNS submission later this year.
